Mora Companion Knife – Quick Look
Fixed blade knives aren’t for everyone, but many outdoor enthusiasts swear by them. There was a time when I was skeptical, but having tried a few, the Mora Companion is one I go back to time and time again. Companion is a good name for this knife. It’s been a trusted partner and ally on a lot of outdoor adventures, and it’s as versatile as it is reliable. From cutting wood and shaving tinder to filleting fish and general hinting/camping tasks, there’s not a lot you can’t do with this knife within reason.
On to the nitty-gritty. The Mora Companion has a 4.1-inch hardened Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade and a patterned, high-friction grip that rests comfortably in the hand. Most importantly, it resists slipping in wet conditions. It comes with a color-matched sheath and belt clip, and the whole package measures 8.6 inches and weighs 4.1 oz., sheath included. It’s a great budget knife that doesn’t feel like a budget knife, and it’s easy to throw in your pack on any outdoor trip because hey, you never know.
