Coastal Marketing Strategies, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. This policy outlines our process for handling claims of copyright infringement on Tech Writer EDC and related services.
Designated Agent for DMCA Notices In accordance with DMCA requirements, we have designated the following agent to receive notifications of claimed copyright infringement. All notices must be sent to this agent:
Coastal Marketing Strategies, LLC Attn: DMCA Agent [Your Physical Address, e.g., Bluffton, SC 29910 — use a real street address for registration validity] Telephone: (843) 941-4056 Email: dmca@techwriteredc.com
We have registered this agent with the U.S. Copyright Office’s DMCA Designated Agent Directory.
Submitting a DMCA Takedown Notice If you believe in good faith that material on our site infringes your copyright, provide a written notification to our Designated Agent that includes all of the following (per 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right allegedly infringed.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, if multiple works, a representative list).
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material (specific URLs or precise location descriptions sufficient for us to locate it).
- Information reasonably sufficient to contact you (address, phone, email).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
We will expeditiously review valid notices, remove or disable access to the claimed infringing material, and notify the user who posted it (if applicable). We do not judge the validity of claims — we act on compliant notices to maintain safe harbor protection.
Repeat Infringer Policy We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to terminate or suspend access for users who are repeat infringers (e.g., those with multiple valid takedown notices or content removals). We do not permit copyright-infringing activities or infringement of intellectual property rights.
Counter-Notice Process (For Users Challenging Takedowns) If your content was removed or disabled due to a DMCA notice and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification (e.g., your own photo, licensed Canva asset, fair use, or public embed), you may submit a counter-notice to our Designated Agent. The counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material removed/disabled and its prior location (URL).
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed/disabled due to mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, phone number, and email.
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district where your address is located (or Northern District of California if outside the US), and that you will accept service of process from the original complainant or their agent.
Upon receiving a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the complainant. If they do not file a court action within 10–14 business days, we may restore the material. Warning: Filing a false counter-notice can lead to liability — consult an attorney if unsure.
Our Stance on Claims We take all valid notices seriously and act promptly. However, we are aware of abusive or erroneous claims from enforcement firms (e.g., for self-taken photos, licensed stock, or linked/embedded content). We document all communications and may pursue remedies (including counter-notices or legal action) against knowingly false or bad-faith claims under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), which imposes liability for misrepresentation. We encourage resolution through proper evidence (e.g., licensing proof) before escalation.
