I’ve been on a bit of a Condor kick lately, and for good reason. Their knives tend to land in that sweet spot where price, toughness, and usability intersect. After spending time with the Condor Woodbuster and absolutely loving it, I stumbled across the Bushcraft Bliss in a Condor catalog and did a double take. I didn’t even realize Condor made this knife.
The Beavercraft Dune isn’t perfect, but at around forty dollars it’s one of the better budget bushcraft knives you can buy. It’s rugged, sharp out of the box, and surprisingly capable for camp tasks. The walnut handle isn’t as refined as pricier models, but it gets the job done. If you want an affordable beater knife that won’t let you down in the woods, this one is worth a look.

It’s small, but not too small, and light, but not too light. The handle is very smooth and fits my hand perfectly, and the stainless steel blade is beautifully shaped and finished, with clean lines and great attention to detail. Overall, the Arrui is a simple but impressive knife right out of the box.
Condor Tool and Knife made the Bushlore knife to tackle the toughest bushcraft and camping tasks, and, by extension, help you survive in any natural environment. It’s not quite a survival knife, but it’s definitely a robust bushcraft knife that can handle tough camping tasks.
I’ve found this another budget-friendly bushcraft knife. The Elk Ridge Bushcraft ER-555 knife makes it a really solid choice for entry-level bushcraft.
It’s worth noting upfront that you simply can’t get a perfect knife for $35. You pretty much always have to sacrifice something at that price point. You might end up with a razor-sharp blade that has zero corrosion resistance, or you get a knife with a great blade and a mediocre handle.
